campus ministry at

the university of michigan

a bit of background

Ever since its founding, Redeemer Lutheran Church has been closely attached to the campus of the University of Michigan.  You will be hard pressed to find someone at Redeemer who doesn't have some connection to it.  Redeemer is part a network of more than 550 campus ministries across the United States and Canada in our church body.

Redeemer is our campus church for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.  Each year we start the school year with our annual Welcome Weekend in mid-September.  On the third weekend of the month, we feature a modern piano-based setting of worship.  In addition, we hold Bible studies, outings, and fun semester end events throughout the year.

For the fall 2020 semester, campus ministry continues, but we will hold events virtually, outdoors, or with social distancing precautions.

Our first campus ministry talk, "My Life as a Christian at Michigan Medicine," will take place on Friday, September 25, at 7 pm on Zoom.

Our fall Bible study will take place on Thursday evenings, beginning at 7 pm, on Zoom.  From October 1 to November 5, we will have an informal discussion on current events from a Christian perspective, including the pandemic, social injustice/police brutality, and the presidential election.

On October 4, we will go to Blank Slate Creamery downtown for ice cream beginning at 7 pm.  On October 25, we will go to Vertex Coffee Roasters at 2 pm.  Ordering and seating is outdoors.  Cost will be covered.

On Saturday November 21, a semester end event with take-out for lunch and some socially-distant games.
